Popping Bottles and Celebrating into the Sunset | Vernon + Linda | Pittsburgh Wedding

I met with Linda earlier this year to begin planning her and her fiance’s special day. We had planned for May 8th, but as we all know, that was the day Pittsburgh opened back up for partial business after the COVID shutdown. I think it worked in their favor however, as they were able to plan a bigger party for their friends and family.

During our initial meeting, I found Linda to be so sweet and down to earth while also seeing her funny and joking side. I knew we were going to click right away.

When covid pushed back her plans for her wedding day, she chose another date to have me available, which is amazing! When I arrived on her wedding day, Linda was with her girls, in their chic matching robes, getting their hair and makeup done. I went into another room where I could focus on getting some of the beautiful detail photos. This room was amazing and every photographers dream room when it comes to photographing the details in homes. It has light grey walls, tons of natural light, including sky lights and a beautiful bay window with lots of open floor. I was in photo prep heaven. Once Linda was done with hair and makeup, the day began to unfold quickly. We headed off to the church, which I absolutely loved the architecture of the front. The ceremony was only 30 minutes, which I find to be quick for a catholic ceremony and off to Mellon park we went for formal photos.

I had never met Vernon or spoke with him even, before this moment as we begun bridal party photos. He was also very down to earth, completely in love with Linda but also the usual sarcastic I see in a lot of guys. I prefer guys with a sense of humor, especially for photos, as they make the session more fun and natural smiles. Definitely reminded me of my hubby. I think they are perfect for each other.

The weather during our photos was amazing, with warm temperatures, sunny blue skies and orange sunsets; absolutely gorgeous! We had cute bridal party photos, beautiful couple photos and fun friend photos. It was the perfect setting for all that we did. Once we wrapped up bridal party photos, we loaded them back onto the party bus and got them off to their reception at their homes’ backyard.

We arrived just as the night was rising and introduced them for the first time. They went right into the cake cutting and into dinner. We listened to beautiful toasts, watched them dance with their parents, each other and their children, which is something I did with my kids during our vow renewal and I absolutely love it. I highly recommend it for all of those with children already. Incorporating your children as much as you can will help build a better album for everyone to look back on, no matter what their age is now.

Once all of the important parts of the party were done, they lit the bonfire, turned up the music and partied the night away. I am more than thrilled that they stuck with me and worked with my schedule as I have truly made a few new friends and I think forever clients. They were an awesome couple, amazing family and the kind of people I like to keep through the years.

I wish you both nothing but great health and hapiness and many many years of love to come.

Ashley
